(the opening will make sense in a second)
It has been far too long since an update. This does not mean I have been idle; in my down time I’ve been taking up new hobbies, corresponding with a promising young writer and attending some live lit shows in support of friends and fellow writers. All of which have been great, but make me miss flexing those writing muscles myself, so I should get back to that soon.
BUT FIRST, A NON-WRITING PLUG:
This Thursday 14th, friend Johnny Sz. and I will be performing a musical set as openers for The Neo-Futurists’ prime-time show Trust Us / Screw You, an evening devoted to deconstructing confidence games and the age-old experience of "being had."
Here’s the thing, though: The Neos are going to have different guest openers each Thursday of their run (which goes till June 13th). So this coming Thursday is the ONLY time Johnny and I will be opening for them. All other performance nights (Fridays & Saturdays) are regular admission, but on Thursdays tickets are Pay-What-You-Can. So really… Really. You should come. Also there will be cocktails. (Those cost money, but c’mon it can’t be PWYC AND free booze, that’s crazy.)
Come on out for a night of music and education on the art of The Con.
