I can promise you that there shall be no "New Year, New Me" proclamations here. Like many people, I get a "new me" on a slower schedule--one completely unrelated to the calendar. Like, I've had a "new me" for about 5 years now, and I'm still interested in seeing what I continue to do with it. I'm holding on to my current make/model for now. Just an FYI for all the body-snatchers out there.
ANYWAY.
New Gwynn or no, it is now 2015! Holidays have come to a close, and the stress release has been effing sweet, for real. I had a really great wrap-up to 2014 between good friends, a stellar family visit and opportunities to further stretch my writing and performing.
I got to have a really great podcast discussion about books with two good friends, Steve and Grayson of Spine Crackers! The podcast itself is in its infancy, so the debut of our episode might be a while in coming. Rest assured I shall post upon its arrival, though.
WBEZ's fiction podcast Pleasure Town will be premiering a story I wrote in the next month or so, and I'll also be contributing to their live show that is coming up sometime in the next couple months. Very Exciting Times. I'll write more on this later, as the process had some particular challenges that I think are important to touch on concerning writing a character whose race is not the same as the writer's.
I'll be performing at Loose Chicks in March, more on that soon, as well!
All-in-all, a gratifying kick-off to the new year, you guys.
Still me,
Gwynn
