This Friday, Sept. 9th at 7:15 pm, I'll be at Uncharted Books doing a story for one of my favorite shows: Loose Chicks!! It's free/pass the hat, so bring a few bucks and if you enjoyed yourself, feel free to donate!
Congratulations are in order for Reading Out Loud, now an AWARD-WINNING PODCAST!! ROL won for "Best Speculative Fiction Story: Large Cast (Long Form)" for Ryan P. Duke's story "Property Damage Claim #1-1403986". Take a listen, it is worth every Par of those Secs ;)
In PleasureTown news, we've been granted access to a particularly unique device that is going to help us level up on all our recordings! Thanks to this ingenious binaural audio device (affectionate name forthcoming), we can record in a way that copies the way humans *actually* hear. No more flat panning from side to side, if our actor records lines while walking around this device, you'll hear that character walking around *you* when you listen-- you hear with the full "dome" of the natural ear. I wish I could better describe how INCREDIBLY COOL this is. We got to try it out at this week's meeting. It is a remarkable tool and Erin Kahoa (our most illustriously gifted sound man) cannot wait to work it into our episodes!
And lastly: My personal fundraiser for The Neo-Futurists is almost at an end! I'm 85% of the way there and every little bit helps. Please help me in supporting the Neos, an organization here in Chicago that gives so much to its community and its audiences that their absence would leave an unfillable hole in the city's artistic landscape.
Fancy link to my Fundraiser!
Fancy link to the Neos and what they're about!
If you can give, I will be so grateful. If you can't, but you share my link on social media, I will also be so very grateful!
Sincerely,
Gwynn
